When you’re looking to hold business sessions and social events away from the office, contact Palmer House Stable. Located in the Eastern Iowa corridor between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, we’re the premier destination for all of your needs.
Inspire your colleagues with a conference, business gathering, speaker, or other corporate events in our original, authentic timber and stone meeting space. Our rooms feature exposed stone walls and restored heavy wood beams matched with black industrial railings and accents.
Select our spacious Main Floor, which can accommodate up to 175 in a speaker format, classroom format 75, cocktail parties standing and seated 145. Or hold a private meeting in one of our smaller Burlap draped rooms (Break out design) or lower level. We offer an array of venues to match any size and type of function. Don’t forget the annual employee holiday party that starts at $35.00 per person all inclusive.
Utilize our complimentary wireless Internet access and other services that will ensure your presentation makes an impact.
The Palmer House Stable also provides an outdoor setting perfect for team-building activities with a fire pit and ergo Adirondack chairs. Roam or unwind with a walk on Solon's Main Street and visit the Big Grove Brewery or The Salt Fork Kitchen. We can even prepare an all-natural pulled pork barbeque or juicy burgers from locally raised Black Angus cattle.

Private Social Events

Baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays, and anniversaries are our specialty reserved exclusively for Sunday afternoons. Our goal is to work with each individual party to make sure we customize to your taste, style, and budget.  

Another popular option is to escape to the SOLO Lofts for an overnight group getaway - whether it’s your birthday bash or an out-of-office retreat. By renting all 8 rooms, you have the 2nd floor to yourself.  

Out-of-Office Events

Too much pavement and air conditioning? Fluorescent lights getting you down? Looking for a way to perk up your team and forge strong relationships? Then get out of the office and head to the stable. Take over the entire stable for an escape with your colleagues and let us plan a great, fun and productive corporate retreat for you.
